The Calm In Stillness !!!
There is a calm in the roaring waters, in the mountain winds, in the laughter of your best friends, in the comfort of your parental home. But there is another calm in stillness.
I want to stay still, stop moving for a few minutes, and just absorb everything around me, my past, my present and my future. The 20s is a great age to be, juggling between travels, fitness regimes, jobs, long-distance friendships, relationships and whatnot, there is hardly any time to do “nothing”. I have found peace and unprecedented calm in staying still for a few minutes every day.
There is peace in taking a few minutes out of your day to do nothing, not thinking, not reading, not listening, not walking. The subconscious mind gets a chance to come to the foreground and to remind you of your lost hopes, dreams, to-dos, old memories and forgotten friends. The thoughts which get buried in the clutter and busyness of everyday life, the thoughts that might eventually change the long-term direction of life. These thoughts are our personal North Star and once in a while we should look up and align ourselves to our destination.
Is this meditation or is this doing nothing?
